Firbank Winners of 2015 Womens Inter-School Golf Challenge Cup

Firbank Winners

Winning Team representing Firbank: L to R: Pam Darling, Toni Burbank, Hilary Yenken and Andrea Burne.

Our day at The Metropolitan Golf Club was blessed with enthusiastic golfers, blue skies and sunshine and excellent results.   The conditions were ideal for the 30 teams who participated in the 86th Annual Women’s Inter-School Golf Challenge Cup. Warm and sunny weather and lush fairways with well manicured greens gave the players no excuses for their golf. The competition was hotly contested with 4 of the teams gathering scores over 130 points. (an average of at least 32.5 per player).

Congratulations to all who played golf and sincere thanks to all who volunteered  with the running of the golf event and assistance with the produce stall and raffle.

The stall of fresh produce, cakes, preserves and other items was well supported and we raised $1069.35 from the stall and the raffle raised $601.10. We are delighted to be able to send a donation of $3,000 to The Cottage by the Sea.  The camaraderie and enthusiastic chatter amongst participants during lunch was a wonderful indicator of the positive enthusiasm and support for such a long standing event.

The raffle prize was a round of golf for two players generously donated by The Metropolitan Golf Club for which we are extremely grateful. Andrea Burne of Firbank won the raffle, finishing a wonderfully successful day all round for her Alma Mata.
